1. Account Setup
Ensure you have a Plex account. Take note of your email address or username used to make your plex account, you will need this to submit your access request.
2. Playback Settings
Set your client video settings to Maximum or Original to Direct Play.
- Where to find this: Usually in Settings > Video Quality > Remote/Internet Streaming.
- Note: You must update this setting individually on every device you use (TV, Phone, Laptop, etc).
- Transcoding (converting video) puts a heavy load on the server.
- Only lower quality if your internet connection requires it.
3. Stopping Playback
Please try and make sure that if you are done streaming that you terminate the stream and stop the video as hanging paused streams put a load on the server and can affect other's playback.
4. Devices & Sharing
Use your own account (no sharing logins). I can invite your friends/family to their own accounts.
Mobile Users: The Plex app requires a one-time activation fee (paid directly to Plex, approx. $5) to watch on mobile.
TV/Console: Apps are free to use.
